What is Parenthood Indecision?
Parenthood Indecision can be defined as a consistent lack of clarity about whether or not one wants to become a parent. It’s a persistent state of indecision that keeps women from feeling like they can move forward in any direction. Oftentimes women who experience parenthood indecision have attempted to find clarity but continue to feel ambivalent, confused, anxious, or overwhelmed at the idea of having to make a choice about becoming a parent or raising children. Women are often aware of their options, to become a parent or remain childfree, but have a hard time making a final decision about what they want for their own futures. Women who are experiencing parenthood indecision often feel overlooked, uncertain, and pressured as they explore choices for their future that may not align with what they perceive is expected of them.
