Therapy for Adjustments and Transitions

Transitions, even expected ones, can test your capabilities and often require you to build new skills or perspectives. As you adjust to change you may feel overwhelmed by uncertainty and have a difficult time trusting yourself. Perhaps you are going through a transition that is causing you to question who you are or the expectations you had about the way life was going to turn out. As you adjust to change it's common to feel strong emotions that may include anger, resentment, grief, and fear. Therapy for adjustments and transitions can help you feel empowered in times of change.

Life transitions can be overwhelming but also a source of growth and opportunity.

Change, even difficult change that is neither wanted or expected, can influence personal growth. Change gives us the opportunity to see what we’re made of; to become stronger, more confident, and better prepared for what life throws at us next. With each new challenge, we develop new personal skills and obtain a greater awareness of ourselves, our family and our communities.


How Can Therapy for Adjustments and Transitions Help Me?

Transitions can often bring attention to places in your life that aren't in alignment. If you find yourself overwhelmed with recent changes in your life, it may be that you need a non-judgemental space to process through recent changes or transitions. Exploring adjustments and life transitions in therapy might include building new skills and accessing personal strengths. Developing coping mechanisms, reinforcing self-care, and establishing connections can help you navigate adjustments and transitions successfully!
