Many of the approaches I use in my practice involve building a deeper sense of self-awareness and reconnection with the emotions, sensations, and perceptions that are present in your body. By holding space for you to process through your own experiences, we will begin to unlock and release some of the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that have kept you from living to your fullest potential.
Restoring a sense of safety and confidence in your body is a crucial part of the therapeutic work that we will do together. I integrate embodied approaches such as mindfulness, imagery, and breathwork that allow you to reconnect with your body on your healing journey. I believe that many of the concerns bringing you into therapy can be solved by slowing down, taking care of your body, and reconnecting with what matters most to you. My hope is that you leave my office with a greater understanding of who you are so that you feel more comfortable in your body.
There is no one size fits all approach to therapy. Some of the practices that may guide our sessions include:
Self-Compassion
Disconnection and self-judgement are at the root of many experiences with anxiety, shame, overwhelm, and indecision. My therapeutic approach promotes connection, curiosity, and self-compassion as a pathway towards healing and clarity.
Mindfulness Therapy
Mindfulness is the practice of being fully engaged in the present moment without judgement. I create space for clients to gently reconnect with their bodies and become aware of the experiences that are present there.
Narrative Therapy
The stories we tell ourselves shape our perceptions of who we are. I work with my clients to shift out of narratives that have kept them disconnected so that they can reclaim their inner wisdom and restore balance to their lives.
Feminist Therapy
Recognition that your mental health may be greatly impacted by the way you have been perceived or treated within your body and relationships. Therapy creates a safe space to explore the way that issues such as power, privilege, oppression, and abuse are intertwined with your identity, beliefs, and worldview.
Person Centered Therapy
You are the expert of your own experiences will enter the therapeutic relationship with your own values, beliefs, identities, and worldview. The job of your therapist is to create space for your journey of self-reflection and growth, through mutual learning and collaboration.
Sex Therapy
A form of therapy that addresses specific concerns about sexual health and sexual functioning. I work with my clients to increase their sexual satisfaction and create authentic, fulfilling sexual experiences.
Let’s Connect!
I believe that people heal best when they are seen, heard, and able to be their authentic selves. I do my best to provide you with a space that is collaborative, convenient, and effective. It’s my hope that you leave my “office” with a better understanding of who you are and feel more empowered to work towards your goals. If you’re ready to take the first step, I’d love to work with you every step of the way.
