Our Approach to Therapy
Embodied Empowerment was founded in the idea that you are most empowered when you have access to the wisdom of your body; that patterns of disconnection and self-judgement are at the root of many experiences with anxiety, shame, overwhelm, and indecision.
Our therapeutic approach promotes connection, curiosity, and self-compassion as a pathway towards healing and clarity. Our clinicians create a collaborative, comfortable therapeutic space where you will feel engaged, supported, and appropriately challenged as you work towards your goals.
As we work together in therapy, we will provide feedback, suggestions, and some new perspectives that can help you to shift out of patterns that have kept you feeling “stuck” or unfulfilled. We will work together to explore strategies that promote balance, integration, and connection in your day to day life. Our hope is that you leave our office with a greater understanding of who you are and feel more empowered to work towards your goals.
Instead of a "one size fits all" approach, we cater my approaches to your specific circumstances and goals. Some of the practices that may guide our work include the following:
Compassion-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness is the practice of being fully engaged in the present moment without judgement. We work with our clients as they learn how to cultivate present-moment awareness and self-compassion through a deeper understanding of their thoughts and emotions.
Narrative Therapy
The stories we tell ourselves shape our perceptions of who we are. We work with our clients to shift out of narratives that have kept them disconnected so that they can reclaim their inner wisdom and restore balance to their lives.
Trauma-Informed Therapy
An understanding that your past experiences will influence the concerns bringing you into therapy. As we identify the impacts trauma and other distressing experiences, we'll help you build the tools you need to fostering resilience and promoting a sense of safety and well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps increase awareness of negative thinking in order to better handle challenging situations. Using specific tools and strategies rooted in CBT, we guide our clients to identify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that keep them feeling stuck and unfulfilled.
Body-Oriented (Somatic) Therapy
We create space for clients to gently reconnect with their bodies and become aware of the experiences that are present there. As we work together, we will learn what it looks like for you to listen to your body and its wisdom.
