Women’s Mental Health

Your mental health includes your emotional, relational, and physical wellbeing. It can impact how you think, feel, and behave as well as how you connect with others, how you make choices, and how you handle stressors or other difficulties. Your mental health will be influenced by the relational, cultural, environmental, religious, and even political contexts that you’ve been a part of. The mental health of women in particular may be impacted by their sexual and reproductive experiences, their body image, their relationships, and the pressures they face from their families and/or careers. How you feel about your mental health may change throughout your life, and can be impacted during or after significant stressors, transitions, or accomplishments.

It can be difficult to prioritize or recognize signs that your mental health is starting to impact your emotional and physical well-being. Some signs that your mental health is negatively being impacted may show up as overwhelm, procrastination, conflict, frustration, rigidity, indecision, unrealistic expectations, and exhaustion. Other signs may include changes in eating or sleeping patterns, isolation, difficulties caring for yourself, difficulty concentrating or relaxing, ruminating worries or fears, and negative thoughts or beliefs about yourself. You may also find that your mental health is impacted by patterns of disconnection and self-judgement that are impacting your overall confidence and self-esteem.

Embodied Empowerment Counseling Services caters to the unique therapeutic needs of women by providing a safe, informed space to address concerns impacting their mental health. I would love to talk with you more about how I can support you. Reach out to me for a free consultation today!
