Infertility Counseling provides support to women who are facing the devastating diagnosis of infertility and making choices about how they want to move forward on their journey to building a family. I provide my clients with space to process through the challenging, often overwhelming, emotions that are a part of their infertility journey.
As a clinician I understand that the concerns bringing you into counseling are intertwined with the goals and hopes you have for your future or the future of your family. My approach to addressing fertility concerns in therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and trauma-informed. We will work together to address feelings of anxiety, shame, powerlessness, and self-doubt so that you are empowered to work towards your reproductive goals in a way that feels authentic to you.
Topics we may explore together include…
Setting realistic expectations of yourself and your body throughout fertility treatments
Addressing the impact of fertility treatments on your relationships, including sex and intimacy concerns
Clarifying the options available to you as you work towards goals of creating your family
Support through experiences with fertility treatments or assisted-reproductive technology
Creating lifestyle changes that support your reproductive goals
Exploring pathways to building your family
Processing feelings of anxiety, grief, shame, and self-doubt that accompany infertility
Reconnecting with your body after experiences with infertility and fertility treatments
